Anne Norda

Anne holds both a Finnish and U.S. passport and is excited to be a member of the European Union. Her mother is from a farming village in Finland. Her father was from Warsaw. In Anne’s debut feature film, RED IS THE COLOR OF, she worked with a creative team from around the world. Anne received a BFA in photography from the Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York. During a year on a Fulbright grant, she created photographic interpretations of the Finnish mythical epic, The Kalevala. Her Naked Spirits series www.annenorda.com features ethereal nudes in nature shot with infrared black and white film.

While still an undergraduate, working on an NYU student film, Anne discovered her calling. She stepped onto the path of filmmaking and hasn’t turned back, bumpy as the road may have been at times. She has studied acting and has written, produced and directed for theater in L.A. Her favorite stint was producing Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love at the Powerhouse Theater in Santa Monica. Anne adapted the screenplay for RED IS THE COLOR OF from her stage play, Red Red Red.

Anne is currently developing a comedy script, a romantic comedy, and a surreal drama about the impact of distant wars on those left behind. Her next independent project is BLUE JOY, a drama about two people, one dying, one trying to die, who reconnect each other to life.
