Born in Sweden but brought up in Finland and France, Irina has appeared in over 40 international films in various languages and accents. As of 1999, she is a resident of the US. Acting awards include the Shooting Star Prize - Europe’s “rising star” award at the Berlin Film Festival, the Best Actress award in Finland for ME AND MORRISON, as well as the Festival Director's Award for Best Actress at the Los Angeles Methodfest. Irina is a member of the European Film Academy. In the US, she has co-starred with names such as John Savage, Eric Roberts, Henry Thomas and Dean Cain. Before film, Irina danced ballet at the Helsinki National Opera, and got her acting education at the Helsinki Theatre Academy 1993-96. She periodically returns to the stage. Theatre credits include the American premier of THE COSMONAUT'S LAST MESSAGE at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2000, actor Stephen Spinella's directorial debut, SPEAKING IN TONGUES, with the Open Fist Theatre Company in Los Angeles in 2005, as well as FOR SHEER LOVE OF ME at the Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara in 2007. RED IS THE COLOR OF triggered the musical collaboration of Irina and composer Peter Fox. They now perform regularly with their band at the Hotel Café in Hollywood, where you can see Irina sing their original material and play her beloved and haunting musical saw.
