Peter
Fox
is
an award winning composer, arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist
with music in his blood. His great-uncle, Joe Young, was a
prolific Tin Pan Alley songwriter and one of the founding
members of ASCAP. Music was always a priority in the family,
and Peter began formal piano study at age 7. When the family
moved from New York to Texas, he began to absorb the Lone
Star State's rich musical culture of Americana, blues, country,
swing, and jazz. Peter soon took up guitar, which remains
his second major instrument. Peter has been active in a wide
range of musical endeavors. He wrote and produced a musical,
Black Hole Buddha. He led his own jazz quartet. He played
in and arranged for soul, rock and funk bands. He has done
scores for films, television, videos, advertising, and theatre.
He has also produced album projects for many artists. A CD
he produced, Americana Motel, was named one of the top 10
releases of 2001 by the Wall Street Journal. Peter recently
scored the Emmy award-winning show The Amazing Race for CBS
(Jerry Bruckheimer), and The Ingrate a short film starring
Kathy Bates. He is proud to be the composer for RED IS THE
COLOR OF.
